Doctor Who ramblings

ickaimpYup. It got me too.
Wasn't really sure what to think of Doctor Who, sci-fi con ramblings aside. Then we saw 'Tooth and Claw' a few weeks back.
*Werewolf shows up*
Icka!: Ooooo... Pretty... *drools*
Doctor: He's Beautiful! *beams happily*
Icka!: ....
Icka!: I -LIKE- THIS GUY!!! XD XD XD
Since then have seen the Christmas special and the first three episodes of the second season. Am attempting to read more about the series, but the 9th doctor leaves me completely lost. Must track it down and watch sometime. 10th Doctor I just empathise with so damn much.
Lines from the Doctor that make us wanna Fic:
"Which leaves us with a great big stinkin' problem. Cause, I really don't know who I am. I don't know when ta stop. So if I see a great, big, threatening -button- which should not ever ever EVER be pressed, I just wanna do this."
*presses the button*
*screams follow*

(note: 'Jimjams' is british slang for 'pyjamas' or 'jammies'. Still looking for how that came about.
'Jimjams' is also british slang for 'fidgeting', 'the jitters' or having the heebie-jeebies.)

Bad wolf is the theme that runs through the first season. You need to see it to understand.

I liked the new companion in her original role, but we'll have to see what they have her like in this one.
Girl in the fireplace has the best lines. I love the one about being the monsters' nightmare.

The monster's nightmare was a great line, but I loved the horse following him around the space station better. The visual was all sorts of crack. XD

Date: 2006-08-07 03:27 am (UTC)Second: I'm gonna go with yes, he can still see the television. Reasoning for this goes along with the fact that televisions make images through light, so he'll still see the shades and shapes that the colours form, but not the colours themselves.
Also, my friend who is partially colourblind (and who I drilled about how he sees the world before writing) never mentioned anything about not seeing televisions or movies, and in fact, we discuss television shows.
-but it is an interesting question and I'll do some more digging on it. ^____^

They see Orange and Green as Yellow.
Their night vision is also better than humans.
-which means I may have to change Guard Dog. Or Jounouchi sees everything in shades of blue. (heh. So Ol' Blue Eyes still fits ^^;;)
Dogs can watch TV, but it probably looks weird to them, (http://www.vetinfo4dogs.com/dogsee.html) which is why they may not be interested in it.

It wasn't until after that Kaito wondered just what a British police box was doing in America.
But he was far too busy running from the crazies outside to worry about it at first. The box was conveniently placed and worked out well. Was it too much to ask that Providence was smiling down on him and Saguru?
Yes, yes it was.
The blonde detective tugged on his sleeve, distracting the shorter man from his watch outside the barred window. "What?"
Saguru pointed behind them, eyes wide. Kaito looked over his shoulder before whirling around, pressing his back against the door.
The inside of the police box was HUGE, far too big for even Kid to approve. It was very space-age, with chrome and lights and a very tall... thing... in the middle of the room. A tall, lanky man was currently banging on the column with a hammer, cursing at it as nuts and bolts and stray bits of wire fell around him.
"Hullo!" a pretty bleach-blonde greeted them with a Cockney accent, smiling warmly.
"Rose!" snapped the third person, a tall man with jet black hair. "We don't know who they are!"
"The TARDIS let them on board," the first man said, pausing his smacking to look at the two other passengers. He had a London accent similar to Saguru's, Kaito noted. As well as an atrociously long nose. "So they can't be all that bad, even if one is a thief."
Both teens blanched. The girl named Rose just laughed. "Don't mind the Doctor, he's just a nosy know-it-all."
"Leave my nose out of this," the first man snapped back, going back to his banging.
Rose approached them, shaking their hands. "I'm Rose Tyler, this is Captain Jack Hartness--" the black-haired man saluted them, "--and Grumpy over there is The Doctor."
"Doctor Who?" Kaito asked aloud.
"Exactly," the Doctor replied.
Saguru groaned. "I've seen this show before..." He grabbed Kaito's arm. "We need to get out of here."
"But it's chaos out there!" Kaito argued. "It's weird in here, but at least we're safe."
"Safe. Bah." Saguru opened the door pulling Kaito with him. He paused and looked back at the three. "You." He pointed to Jack. "Watch out for the Daleks."
The Doctor dropped his hammer with a crash. Rose stared at him in shock. The box started making a loud whirling noise. "Doctor, say it sooner, you won't have enough time," he shouted over the noise, pushing Kaito out the door.
"And you..." He pointed at Rose, pausing to think for a split second. "Hold on tighter."
He barely made it out of the TARDIS and slammed the door shut before the entire police box disappeared into thin air.
"What. The. Hell." Kaito stared at Saguru, eyes wide. "What the hell was all that blather?"
"Bloody Mum, forcing me to watch Sci-Fi with her on the weekends..." Saguru muttered, stalking down the street.
Kaito sighed and shook his head, running after the detective.
