We have a lot of talented people in the DC community, so I'm hosting a competition/bet.

When you place your vote, comment with something you're willing put to on the line. Writing a Fic, Drawing a Picture, Making an Icon, A Banner, A new LJ Layout, something you're willing to do for someone else.
If there are personal restrictions, such as nothing mature or a pairing you don't like, please state it in your comment.

If you do not post something to barter, you're not eligible to get anything in return. Period. However, please feel free to join in the debate over who you think it is. ^__^

The poll will close the week that the answer is revealed in Shonen Sunday and I'll announce the people who chose correctly, who didn't and what is up for grabs. People can comment what they would like and I'll match them up. Icka's word is final, arguing will get you no prize at all.
Should there be more people who guessed correctly than those who didn't, Icka will make up the slack.

I just remember...in cabaret/circus don't they have the kind of trick when one person throws the knife to the wall where the other person is standing without hitting them? So the person has to be very accurate with the knife throwing thingie. I know circus and magic show aren't the same but they're kind of similar, right? So it's possible that Toichi is confident enough that he could throw the knife without hitting them just like in his magic shows or something.

It seemed like Mysterious Man already expected Shinichi to be there. I mean he recognized the boy's face even in the dark! It's like he's waiting for him. Scary.

If I loose, I'll take 'writing a fanfic;' my conditions being:

1. I can't do pure fluff so don't even bother asking.
2. I won't take anything which I can't see happening without inexplicable OOCness. This condition applies particularly to pairings.
3. No requests for anything plot?-what-plot?, plot usually turns up of its own accord when I try writing such.
4. I'll write any rating, but am unable to promise any given one since it's really mostly up to the story.
5. I really should refuse anything that can't be finished in one installment. But toss me a good enough plot bunny and I might forget this one...though you'll need to be patient.

I think it's someone, most likely Kudo Yuusaku, dressed up as the Night Baron.

My reasoning:
-The Night Baron is the character most likely to be Shinichi's younger brother. I don't recall ever seeing concrete information on whether his series predates Shinichi's birth or not, but it's the character most likely to be considered another "son" of Kudo Yuusaku.

-We know that the Night Baron is a murderous thief and, if I recall correctly, a master of disguise.

-It's likely that Maurice Leblanc's (sp?) mysteries are better than Sir. Arther Conan Doyle's as tools for actually learning to solve mysteries.

Example:
Sherlock Holmes: The culprit is _______ because I went and looked up the shipping information.

Arsene Lupin: Actually, I don't remember a thing about the one Lupin book I read, except that it involved Arsene running around swashbuckling and stuff. Quite exciting.

-Kudo Yuusaku is known to like dreaming up little cases for Shinichi to solve.

-We know that Yuusaku is capable of throwing his voice well enough to fool his son. (In the "Conan's Mother" case, I don't recall seeing him wearing a voice changing unit, but I don't have my copy on hand and therefore cannot check.)

-I'm fairly sure Shinichi doesn't meet Sharon Vinyard until the Golden apple case- otherwise, I think Yukiko wouldn't make the "we studied under the same teacher" explaination (which I'm fairly sure was made to explain why they knew each other, but then again, I can't check.)

Argh, my arguments are all based on stuff I haven't read in quite some time. >_____<

My wager: A drabble, PG-13 or lower. Any character is fine, but please none of 1-case guest cast type. Unless it was that one ex-teacher of Ran's who got poisoned at her own wedding.
