--he'd practiced the look in the mirror for hours to make sure he got it right-- Taking lessons from Yuugi, now is he? XD By the way, I would like to return the plunnie to you now. It won't leave me alone. In fact, I think it has reproduced. I'm not sure how closely your story follows the official storyline but here's my take on another part of it.
-----------
Yuugi watched his friend mull over their encounter with Kaitou Ryuu. Why did his best friend have to be dragged into the middle of an ages old feud? A voice in the back of his mind chimed, -Because the magician thinks that I’ve marked Jounouchi as one of my servants. That makes him fair game.-
Wirly, Yuugi replied, I know that Jounouchi does not like to be referred to as less than a person. I’ve seen how he reacts whenever Yaiba calls him a dog. Yuugi’s eyes narrowed. Just like Kaitou Ryuu did tonight. Does he want Jounouchi to figure out the truth?
-The magician never liked to play an easy game. It seems that aspect has not changed over the millennia.-
Really…? Maybe we need to lay out the ground rules? Yuugi asked, all innocence put aside.
Jounouchi trotted out of the bathroom after changing into a worn t-shirt and boxers- his regular sleep attire. He froze in the doorway as he caught Yuugi’s expression. “Say, Yuugi? Are you alright?”
Yuugi mustered up a smile. “I’m fine. I was just thinking.”
“Don’t strain anything,” Jounouchi said, cheekily. Yuugi threw a pillow at him in response as Jounouchi ducked out the door and ran downstairs for a late night snack.
-He wouldn’t follow them.-
Huh? Yuugi said, not following the train of thought.
-Laying out the ground rules wouldn’t work. They aren’t his rules.- How about he keeps this…game between us or else we let Bakura know who took his ring and where to get it back?
-…….. You’re learning, aibou,- the spirit said, clearly impressed. Yuugi could hear the spirit grinning deviously as he added, –Or, if that fails, you could threaten him with a mop.- Hey! That was only on one occasion! And I belive you were the one to actually start swinging the mop. You just left me to deal with the situtation in the middle of the swing, Yuugi said, indignatly.
-You’re too nice. I was trying to help you out. Oh, look, Jounouchi is back.-
We’ll finish this later, Yuugi said sternly to his snickering partner.
Jounouchi held a bowl with wasabi peas and a glass of milk tea in the other. Yuugi made a face. “That combination is going to give you nightmares.”
“Hasn’t yet.” Jounouchi sat down and began to eat. Despite his misgivings, Yuugi helped himself to a few of peas. A few moments of crunching went on as the duo consumed the peas. Jounouchi finished off his milk tea and put the glass down with a thunk. “Say…have you ever had one of those days where you can’t stop having internal discussions with yourself?”
Yuugi gave his friend a long wide-eyed look, then laughed, “Everyday. Jounouchi, every day.”
