...we're doing a lot of work to avoid being lazy...
Does anyone know of a series that takes place/involves a university or college in England? If we don't know it, will learn it.
Call it a quirk, but when writing fanfiction, really really don't like having to put in authour created characters.
If we wanted to write authour created characers, would return to our orginal universe with it's five cities and created cast of hundreds. ^^;;

And on an completely different project:
Does anyone know how to write 'The Kaitou Kid stole my clevage' in 'kana? o_O

o_O indeed.

Um, His Dark Materials is theoretically in England... Oxford, to be precise. Although it's a mulitverse book.

So is The Chronicles of Narnia, well the parts not in Narnia.

And (since the plunny just bit me), you could probably throw in A Series of Unfortunate Events in the SoG mix. I mean, mysterious organizations battling one another? I mean, come on, all you need is to put Count Olaf in a black suit and watch him try to speak Japanese. It practically writes itself.

There was that "Londinium" romp in the original Batman TV series. Lord Marmaduke Fogg (Rudy Vallee) and Lady Penelope Peasoup (Glynnis Johns)guest starred. A three episode thriller in which BATGIRL, played in skin tight glory by dancer Yvonne Craig, revealed her secret Identity to the Dynamic Duos ever-faithful Manservant Alfred. Dude knew how to keep his mouth SHUT. I think there was a girls school involved.

Wow. That was an odd trivia note even for ME!

...Dare we ask, Icka? Oo;;

Well...the Canon (all 60 Sherlock Holmes stories) takes place in England for the most part...but something tells me you weren't interested in Victorian era answers. Watson received his degree in medicine at the University of London. (A Study in Scarlet) It's also suggested Holmes attended either Cambridge or Oxford. Eton College is also mentioned in several stories. (Moran was educated there before moving on to Oxford.) ...anyway. Probably not the answer you're looking for. ._.;;

There was 'The Young Ones' in the 80's. It was an anarchic comedy about 4 guys living in a student house. You never saw the Colllege/Uni, and they barely even mentioned it. So I'm not sure how useful that will be to you.
There was also the (very) shortlived 'Weirdsisters College' which folllowed on from the 'Worst Witch' stories. And is probably of even less use to you.
I can't think of any more that were on in the UK. Maybe other countries have something though.
There's always the 'University Challenge' Quiz show. Real Universities competing for the prize at the end of the series.

If it helps you any, the URL for the homepage of the University that I am at is herts.ac.uk which might have some info that you can use.
If you click on 'Student Life' you can get to some of the Student Union pages, including the online versions of the Student newspaper 'Universe'.

Oooh, the Stravaganza series takes place in London (what parts of it don't happen in Talia, anyway). It's by Mary Hoffman, if I remember correctly.

S' also a good read. <3

There was an obscure, quirky, but very well made BBC (I think) drama/comedy series back in the early 90's called "A Very Peculiar Practice", which was set around the medical centre of a modern British uni. The series itself would probably be next to impossible to find now, but I seem to recall it was based on a book...

There was also a British mini-series, around the same time, called "Porterhouse Blue", set in a traditional Oxford/Cambridge style college. Starred David Jason, one of the better-known British TV actors.

I don't know if you still care or not, but in Cardcaptor Sakura, Eriol is from England and Ms. Mizuki goes there after the Final Judgement. Of course, Eriol is not old enough to be in a college or university, but it would be interesting if Kaito and Hakuba were to meet him and his guardians there.
