[ficbit] SoG: Stupid Heist Revamped

ickaimpAfter talking to MOrgan, decided to revamp the fic a bit because the two halves really didn't fit well together. (this is what happens when worlds plunnies collide)
So is much shorter, but a better fic, I think.

A flicker of motion from the curtains and the warm press of a body draped across his back was all the warning he had that his favourite late night visitor had stopped by. Hakuba smiled, reaching back to give Kid an awkward half hug.
"So," Hakuba strained to keep the amusement out of his voice. "How are things tonight?"
He got a plantive groan in response. "Can I request a favour?"
"Favour?"
Kid rested his forehead on Hakuba's shoulder. "Prevent me from completing my next heist." The thief muttered surly into Hakuba's neck. "Stupid heist."
"Well..." That was an unusual request. Contradictory to the kaitou's goals too. "... I could always handcuff you to my bed until after the heist is over."
That earned him a punch to the shoulder that was probably deserved. Damn funny though.
"I take it that your request has something to do with the rather... unusual method of delivering a heist note that appeared on Nakamori-keibu's desk this afternoon?" Hakuba ventured.
"How bad was it?" Kid's voice was tentative, as if bracing himself for some nasty news. "I didn't stick around."
Hakuba debated. There had been the usual screams and shouts, roars of outrage and delight as well as the usual battle cry of 'We'll nail that bastard yet'. On the other hand, there had been much more laughter over this one as well. "A bit more speculation on if this was a genuine Kaitou Kid heist than usual and quite a few comments on your supposed age, 'Kid'."
The kaitou groaned and buried his face against Hakuba's neck, attempting to hide in Hakuba's hair. "It fits all the requirements." Kid muttered despairingly. "Large shiny jewels, too much unwanted attention... Hafta go for it."
Kid couldn't very well let the opportunity slip out of his fingers. And it would be just his luck that what he searched for would be in something as idiotic as this. "If they really are that interested in software and video games, it would explain the unwanted attention." He helpfully pointed out.
"Yeah, but..." A gloved hand moved in graceful circles in the air.
"Can't take the chance." He supplied, translating the gesture.
"Unfortunately." The thief agreed soulfully. "I really don't want to do this heist. My image is going to be completely shot to hell."
"Unlikely. You're unpredictable to the masses, remember?"
This did seem to cheer Kid up a bit. "Yeah, you're right. And it -would- be just my luck that someone would get their hands on a large quantity of semi-precious stones and decide to make life size Pocket Monsters out of them."
"I'm placing bets on sleeping gas coming out of the Jigglypuff statue." Hakuba agreed cheerfully. "After all, 'catch 'em, catch 'em, ya gotta catch 'em all', right?"

Note: The heist notice arrived in a plastic Pokeball on Nakamori's desk. ^___^

Course, the problem then would be that he'd want one of the statues as a reward... *shudder*
