Personally, I got into reading the yaoi and the slash several years ago because it used to be that the slashy fics tended to be the better quality ones, written by the more mature authours.
That's exactly how I got into yaoi, despite my heavily Christian upbringing. Arbitrary morals just aren't as important as good writing. Pairings do matter to me, but only because some just don't seem realistic to me, not because they're yaoi or whatever.
And it's perfectly all right to be tipsy on Thanksgiving. Being perfectly coherent is almost a bigger sin. *grins*
