Mongolian clothing and exhibits

Also? I'm just WAITING to see this on the next battlefield.
Striped chainmail, skull-and-flower arrangements and cupcakes. I'm tellin' ya, this is the new fighter trend. ^__^
Anyway. More Mongolian research. Found the Mongolian National Museum, which has an extensive collection of clothing and artefacts. IS IT NOT AWESOME!? \o/
The rest of this lady's archive is worth checking out. If nothing else, DINOSAUR. PARK.

This is also awesome. Eating kit: knife and chopsticks, with a flint fire starter pouch. Found a couple of vintage ones on ebay, out of my price range.
Found the website for the Genghis Khan exhibit I visited last year in Houston. They finally have some art books for it.
I find it interesting, looking at this picture of an extant deel and remember not understanding all the panels in the 'skirt' portion, and looking at it now and realising how close it is to a shenyi.
Apparently, they're permitting photographs.. Argh. (I had to get 'special permission' to sketch.) There's also now dancers and re-enactors, which is a huge improvement over docents who haven't a clue about the exhibit they're wandering around in. Pretty sure they didn't have the mummy then either. *sigh*
Need to do more research on Paiza, or the passports. These would be awesome as site tokens, in miniature.
Other Mongolian exhibits around the world: The State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg has a Golden Horde exhibit and Sabanci Museum in Turkey had the Genghis Khan and His Heirs Exhibition (photos have an emphasis on archery).
