Have a copy of the Mongolian Jewellery book from the Danish National Museum which has been a great jumping off point, trying to figure out jewelry and accessories for garb.

Biggest thing about it is that the traditional stones used are coral and turquoise, (which is a sacred stone) usually set in or around silver. Sometimes Lapis or Malachite, but not often.
-the funny thing being Mongolia is landlocked, they have to trade for the coral, which they use LOTS.

These are some pictures from the Danish National Museum, just to give you an idea.

Tibetian jewellery has a lot of similarities. No surprise there.

Also has some resemblence to Karakalpak (Turkish) Jewellery. You can see where the Middle Eastern and Asian influences start to combine there.

Random, looking into Yuan (Mongolian) period chinese clothing and I find a link for historical undies. Think they're bras. ^^;;

Got lost in their Clothing and Ornamentation section. ^^;; They cover early Chinese make up! and how the lip shapes change from period to period!
-Aha! Mongolian Headwear!

And, of course, my favourite Hanfu clothing pattern link. Still want a Shen-yi for 'formal' occasions, but would like to make a Aoqun before Estrella.
... on the other hand, I can get a custom-made Shen-yi for under $200 on ebay too...
