Three Pennies
Apr. 13th, 2009 09:27 pmSo today I woke up at 2pm, thinking it was 9am. Whoo. Did that throw off the schedule. Guess more than 12 hours sleep was needed. So pulled out my favourite hat, the one with all the travel charms on it and ran errands.
Ran into an elderly lady at the bus stop was curious about the charms from around the world on the hat. Then the bus arrived and we got on. She sat down in the front and I ended up in the middle.
Glanced down, glanced up and suddenly she's several seats in front of me. She then moves to sit next to me. I'm thinking... ah... okay... weird.
She then hands me three pennies. It's an old tradition from when she was growing up to give someone who was going on a trip three pennies.
One penny for Safety.
One penny for Fun.
And the third penny to throw into water, for a wish only I know.
-I'm gonna be bouncing about this for days. ^____^
