Slayers

Megs is getting me back into the series. Which feels really weird, since we left it in early 2002, shortly after we started playing in the DC/MK fandom. Last night, after Arts and Sciences, we went for coffee (still swear the Safehouse makes the best coffee. *purrrs*) then watched a few episodes of the first series, hence last night's random comments and quotes.

Is kinda weird, since I'm noticing that how I watch the series has changed, thanks to how I've grown and the fandoms we've been in since then. Some of my concepts towards several of the characters changed.
Zelgadis, I had always kind of thought he got what he deserved for being power hungry. Yet watching it this time, realised that he was probably in his barely early teens working towards being a strong -swordsman-, when a relative whom he has no reason -not- to trust, shows up and offers to supposedly help him towards this goal in exchange for assistance in his own goals.
And zappo.
Can you imagine going through puberty like that? >_O Rocks for Zits? Kinda makes him more understandable, IMHO.

-Megs has also handed me the Slayers Novels, which is OMG Big Deal, since when I was in the fandom, they were an oft talked about rumour, but no one really saw them. And now! Canon for all!
It's kind of funny, just how much the characters changed from the novels to the anime. Probably will muse on that more once we've finished them, we're on volume two now.

And I've gotta run, need to find clothing and throw it on...

Timing kills me

So... Was asked a while back to write for an original webcomic that a friend will draw (yes, am being purposely vague) and we have been working together on this off and on for several months.

Just got the main characters final designs done and are starting to finalize the timelines and the plot twists and I'm getting things line up in my head to start to write it down.

And I get a message from NaNoWriMo while we're hammering out details in chat saying, 'Hi! Did you know we do two events a year?'

Script Frenzy, write 100 pages of script in 30 days, 1-30 April.

Which includes scripts for graphic novels.

*head desk*

Hm. Wonder what I'm doing in April... -_-
