Canterbury Faire

Gods... where to start?
Lessee... my first introduction to the King and Queen of Lochac was the Queen turning to her husband and shouting "Hey! Lumpy!" and him responding.
They're a wonderful King and Queen. ^_____^
Had a good time. Compared to a lot of the big faires in the states, this was pretty small, less than 200 people. But it's the biggest one in NZ and I think everyone had a really good time.
Got a tankard and a plastic viking helmet with cow horns in the 'lost items' auction. Evidently the plastic viking helmet had been there for a few years, everyone was glad to see it go.
... evidently I've been the only one insane enough to wear it. o_O It also doubled as a hat rack a few times.
There was a wrestling match last night that was great fun to watch. First there was the kids. Then there was the guys wrestling each other, without shirts. Niiiice. One guy lost a shoe and attempted to beat the other guy with it. ^______^
Also mostly done making a squid hat. AKA a squid I can wear on my head. Pictures to come eventually. Right now... sleeeeeeeeeepy.
Train also left us a prezzie, such a sweet kitty. She left us a mousie. Body here, tail there and no idea about the missing hindleg... o_O (she eats birds. mice she can't seem to figure out)
And for the Scadians... some flik fun.
To the tune of 'Frère Jaques/Brother John'
I'm a Saxon, I'm a Saxon
So are you, So are you.
Let's go kill a Norman, Let's go kill a Norman.
Bing Bang Boom. Bing Bang Boom.
[Edit, for the NZ-ers:] Campbell Live was at the Faire as well, they'll be showing the SCA in Jaquie Brown's segment about NZ Clubs and Societies. It should be showing in a week or two. ~_^
[Edit:] Forgot to mention being woken up in the night by a Hedgehog finding it's way into a potato chip bag. All you could see of it was it's butt.
Evidently hedgehogs like salt and vinegar potato chips. Who knew?
