ha! Okay, a more comprehensive babble now that we're not just finally crashing to go to sleep.

Visited my old work yesterday, the Design Department of the Sign shop. Was glad to see everyone doing fairly well. ^__^ They're a good bunch of people.

[livejournal.com profile] btailweaver, [livejournal.com profile] kosaginolegion, [livejournal.com profile] poe_nui, [livejournal.com profile] dogmatix_san and [livejournal.com profile] lazulisong, you should be getting something in the mail in the next day or so.

Today, we're heading down to San Diego to see the older of my two brothers and maybe a cousin. ^__^

Umm... the pic posted yesterday is just a random one, we wanted to do wings. Have 2 Black Cat pics scanned and waiting to be coloured, another Magic Kaito for the same and a BC/MK crossover pic to be scanned.
For some reason, all of our Black Cat pics, they either end up as chibies or furries. Dunno why.

Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lazulisong for letting us use several references to her fic Better than the Hedgehog". It was one of the first fics of hers we've ever read and remains a favourite.

Thursday 3 Nov.
Went to the Getty and had a marvellous time. Did some sketches of various things that caught my eye. The exhibit on the illuminated manuscripts and the various Books of Hours was wonderful.

The one that caught my eye? The picture about the Sin of Lust from the Poiter's Book of Hours by Robinet Testard. Showing a foppishly dressed dandy sitting astride a goat (obviously male) and 'suggestively fingering the goat's horns'.
Ended up going -back- to the exhibit to do a sketch of this. And then wandered out of the exhibit scaring the security guards by cackling with David about 'we got the goat! we got the goat!'.
Why'd we get the goat?
Thinking it would be funny to do a parody of the picture for Tucson Barony, a dandy sitting on a boar and fondling the boar's ears. *leer*

Think I also annoyed the Dosen who was giving the Garden Tour. At the top of the central garden, he told us to keep an eye out for the various things the artist might have done.
We get to the bottom and he asks what did we see.
I raise my hand and rattle off a list of things I'd spotted. (large chaotic rocks to smaller organised rocks, the use of triangles and diamonds in contrast to the squares that dominate the buildings, the gradual introduction of the colour red leading into the round sculptures at the bottom, the use of circles as an accent, blending into the round water maze at the bottom, short plants at the top, tall plants at the bottom, etc etc)
It's all stuff I normally pick out of my surroundings, especially in an art museum, where I know it's on purpose.
The dosen stared at me for a moment, then -turned his back- to me and proceeded to continue the lecture to the rest of the group and ignored me for the rest of the tour. Which it was pretty much the end anyway.
Thought this was terribly funny for some reason.

Ysabet, you'd prolly go nuts in the garden around the water maze. Lots of variation.
