[18] Family Day
Aug. 9th, 2003 10:36 pmRandom fact of the day: Today in 1945, 'Fat Man' was dropped on Nagasaki, Japan. ('Little Boy' was dropped on 6 Aug in Hiroshima.)
Jerry Garcia, lead singer for the Grateful Dead, also died today in 1995.
It is always very odd reading about the Manhattan Project and Los Alamos because we used to spend some summers there, therefore know exactly where they are talking about...
Anyway.
Nothing creative today... we're kinda quiet with that lately, huh.
Spent some time with my youngest sister and her latest 'acquisition' (her words, not mine). He was a nice guy, but word of advice to her, if your belly sticks out father than your boobs and jiggles more than Santa Claus and a bowl full of jelly, don't wear a crop top and a off the hip skirt. -_- (she looked preggers. blargh)
It did not help when I went to my youngest brother's birthday party when Dad commented that she looked and acted just like biological mother did 25 years ago, with the figure she had after her first child. I'm slightly grateful by this, because my youngest sister and I are just about complete opposites personality wise, so this means I'm not turning out like my biological mother. (thank the fates!)
Youngest brother's party was a lot of fun, he turned 18, and his mom gave him a bunch of Corvette minitures, resulting in a bunch of High School grads playing with toy cars like small children. *giggles*
... yes, there were many contradictions in the above sentences family-wise, ignore them. Is too confusing to easily explain.
Completely random note, look for Mars in the southeastern sky, it'll be shining brighter than normal, due to the fact that it is closer than has been in 59,619 years. The next time Mars and Earth are this close will be 2287. ^__^
