Been watching the eclipse since it was about 10 degrees above the horizon, just this lttle sliver of light in the dusky sky oppisite of the sunset.
And kept from singing 'It's the end of the world as we know it'. It was very very hard, but we managed.
Was very cool. Spent most of it talking to my lot-neighbour, who's an old hippie (we get along great) and then discussing SpiderMan Movie Slash with
Neechan which was great fun.
And scared my next-door neighbour. Long black skirt, black tanktop, black haori and sitting on a fence during the middle of the night seems to do that.
Note to self: Do it more often.
Watched for about an hour, until the moon started to peek back out causing a really neat effect with this shimmery white on the left hand side and a dark reddish shadow covering the rest of the moon. The kind of moon you want to strike dramatic poses in front of because it's such a georgeous backdrop.
Took shower, went outside just a few minutes ago and about a quarter of the Moon is un-covered now, like a covering being peeled off a shinying Roc's egg or something...
Very very pretty. Very nice night for moon watching, even if we did miss the peak of it because it was still daylight. ^_^
