Okay, slight problem.
It has now been over 6 months since we saw the movie opening day.
Therefore, the farther along it goes, the more we can't remember. So there are holes.
If you can fill in the blanks, our gratitude.

Shinjou Isaa: A young handsome man with dark hair and pierced ears.
Tajimo Tenko: Blond woman, kind of working in Moki Juri's shadow.
Narusawa Funjiro: a large friendly muscular man playing the leading man.
Moki Juri: Red head with spiky hair who approaches Mouri with the Kid note. Prima Donna of the Group.
Sakai Natsuki: Make up artist, younger than the rest of the group. Wears her hair up in a tall ponytail like Kazuha.
Yaguchi Mosayo: Pale quiet woman with long dark hair and glasses.
Pan Tooru: older gentleman with his hair in a low ponytail. Wears gold jewellery like he's stuck in the 70s.

Pitch black.

There's the sound of footsteps running on metal and the harsh sound of someone breathing. Then a door slams open, illuminating the area as Conan runs out, breathing hard as he looks around the metal staircase for someone, a backpack strapped to his back.

Silence, then the sound of someone's foot hitting metal above him. Conan takes off running up the stairs to his left, taking them as fast as he can.

He reaches the top, the streetlights and moonlight illuminating the helicopter landing pad on the top of the skyscraper. A lone man stands in front of him, tall, wearing a guards uniform with his back to the boy as he looks up at the sky, his hands in his pockets. Conan pants for breath for a moment, then straightens up, a confidant look on his face and makes comment about the jig being up. (or to that effect)

The man turns around. Long face, closed eyes, prominent cheekbones, and a friendly smile. He agrees, reaching one arm towards his neck. There's a swish and a flash of cape as Kid the Phantom Thief stands there, smiling at the miniature detective.

A blast of trumpets and enter the theme opening and explanations.

Scene change to Mouri's office. Mouri is sitting on one of the couches, talking to 2 women. Moki Juri is a vibrant lady with shoulder length spiky hair. Next to her is Yaguchi Mosayo, is quieter and pale, with long black straight hair and glasses. They recently received a Kid note, about a ring called 'The Stone of Destiny', which Juri sets down on the table. It's a large star sapphire ring, surrounded by diamonds, which Ran marvels over, much to Mouri's annoyance.

Kid note:

Juliet
Romeo
Victor
Bravo

26 no moji ga tobikau naka
Unmei no Houseki wo
itadaki ni sanjousuru

*picture of a card, the 2 of spades cut in half*

-Kaitou Kid
*heart* *caricature of the Kid face*

Juri is quickly linked to 'Juliet', 'Julie' (in Japanese, pronounced the same as 'Juri') being short for 'Juliet'. She's also playing 'Josephine', in a theatre production about Napoleon. Both Ran and Conan are excited about the show.

Mouri starts attempting to figure it out, linking the 26 to the English alphabet and spinning a whole thread, to which the woman applaud and comment that it's no wonder he's a brilliant detective. Conan makes his 'A-lala' sound as he picks up the Kid note and pours over it, which Mouri sweatdrops at, recognising the sound as Conan about to poke large gaping holes in his wonderful theory.

More banter, the usual routine, as the camera pans back, to a dove sitting on the telephone wire across the street, watching them. ( ^___^ )

Curtain time.

Mouri comes to visit Juli in her dressing room before the show, Ran and Sonoko with him and Agasa, Haibara, Genta, Mitsuhiko, Ayumi and Conan, wearing a backpack, trailing behind them. Juli is in costume, getting her hair and make up done by a girl with her hair up in a ponytail, Sakai Natsuki, makeup artist. There's an open box of chocolates in front of Juli as she turns to warmly greet Mouri. She looks rather miffed about the kids however, who are looking around in awe as the adults talk.

Ayumi spots some foundation on the counter and marvels over them while Haibara looks at them some what wistfully and explains that they're different colours and that you mix them together on a person to make them look right. (Haibara looks rather wistful at all this, IMHO). Ayumi thinks it's fascinating as she picks one up and inspects it. The Natsuki walks over and retrieves it from Ayumi, putting all the makeup into a black travel bag (looks like one of those black doctors bags, only bigger) and clicks the bag's fastener's shut, slightly scolding a disappointed looking Ayumi. Haibara looks rather annoyed but the woman makes Ayumi smile.

The rest of the actors file in already in costume, greeting the famous Mouri and making introductions. Narusawa Funjiro: a large friendly muscular man playing Napoleon, Shinjou Isaa: a young handsome man with dark hair, Josephine's other suitor. Pan Tooru: an older gentleman with longer hair, Tajimo Tenko, a blonde woman and I think rival for Napoleon's affections and Yaguchi Mosayo, who we met earlier. They all talk for a moment while Mouri laughs, and another person makes an appearance.

Inspector Nakamori, being trailed by his assistant from the Shin'ichi vs the Kid special and a few police officers, enters and greets Mouri. The two shake hands. Nakamori squeezes Mouri's hand, crushing it and causing Mouri to try not to wince. Mouri returns the favour. A clash of manly testosterone takes place as the Shonen Tantei watch and cheer on the two men trying to crush each others hands in a grunting, sweating, dignified manly fashion.

An unofficial draw is finally called, both men leaning back and rubbing sore hands, which have clear imprints showing as they talk. Nakamori announces that for this case he brought in an expert on the Kid, and opens the door.

Sneakers walk into the door way as the camera pans up past the jeans to the smiling face of Kudo Shin'ichi.

Shock.

Shin'ichi walks in, talking to the actors, appearing calm and confidant about the whole thing while off to the side, Agasa and Haibara do wide-eyed double takes and Conan just about has a heart attack. (We're not stealing the line from Calger459's summary, its in my notes and that's what really what it looks like. Neechan also has a note there that Conan is realising that Sex with the Kid would now be Masturbation. -_-) Ran reacts with surprise as well, backing up into Sonoko, who's watching with a slightly puzzled but pleased expression.

"THAT'S NOT SHIN'ICHI-NIICHAN!!" Conan declares (via my instant mental translator) as he steps forward pointing at the impostor and making everyone jump. The adults react with surprise and suspicion, while Shin'ichi sweatdrops and comments. Nakamori decides there's only one way to know for sure. Nakamori reaches up and starts pulling on Shin'ichi's cheeks, stretching his face out, causing his eyes to tear up and many interesting strange strangled sounds to emerge from his throat.

The face doesn't come off.

Nakamori's satisfied, and so is everyone else as Nakamori releases Shin'ichi. Shin'ichi looks a little ruffled for wear as he rubs his now pink and very sore cheeks.

Conan protests that that CAN'T be Shin'ichi-niichan because he... (ore wa...) His jaw snaps shut, one hand on his chest as he realises what he was about to say. Ran looks on curiously in the back ground as Shin'ichi continues to rub his cheeks, looking the faintest bit interested in the proceeding, but kind of distracted with the pain.

Because he's -what-, Mouri wants to know. Conan shuts up and hides behind Agasa and Haibara. In the mean time, Shin'ichi's drawn everyone's attention away by flirting lightly with Ran, calling her 'cute'. "Cute?!" Ran blushes, getting flustered while Sonoko cheers it on. Conan grumbles about this, and Haibara gets a shot in about how do they know that -he- is who he says he is. Conan's not amused.

The actors file out, it's nearly show time and Shin'ichi invites Ran to go with him as he checks out the perimeter and get ready for the heist. Conan's sulk vanishes like it never existed as he suddenly goes ultra-whiny spoiled bouncy child, grabbing Ran's jacket and demanding that he wants to go with. Ran acquiesces and the Shonen Tantei wonder what the heck got into Conan, he's acting weird.

A hand rattles a doorknob, it refuses to budge. Shin'ichi grins, satisfied that it's locked. He smiles at Ran, who's following along side them they head towards her seat. Conan, looking very much the sulking child, pauses behind them and checks the door as well, rattling it before being satisfied that it really is locked and skulking along behind them.

Genta, Mitsuhiko and Ayumi have their hands pressed up against the glass of a window, expressions of delight on their faces as they marvel over the view of the sunset from where they're standing as Genta does a heartfelt "Sugee!" Mitsuhiko corrects him in a rather mature manner. (instant mental translator: "nobody says 'sugee'." 'Sugee' is a form of 'Sugoi', an exclamation, BTW. Luffy from One Piece says it frequently) Genta looks rather shame faced and confused while Ayumi appears quietly puzzled.

Shin'ichi walks up, pressing his hands up against the glass as well. "Sugee!"

Genta and Ayumi smile shiftily at Mitsuhiko, who laughs nervously and rubs the back of his head.

Shin'ichi offers to tell them a riddle, and they inform him that Agasa gives them weird riddles. Agasa 'humphs' at that, and Shin'ichi tells them the riddle anyway. It involves Napoleon and two houses.

(Sleepy Howie's explination:
"Shinichi"s riddle was "There were two houses on Napolean's land, which of the following three people wasn't one of the house-owners?"

The choices were Fuyuno-san, Furuno-san, and Fukano-san. Answer being Furuno-san, because "land" and "dictionary" are pronunced the same in Japanese as are "Furuno" and "Impossible" And the whole thing has something to do with that quote of Napolean's saying that "impossible" doesn't exist in his vocabularies or something...)

Ran figures it out first, clapping her hands in delight and Shin'ichi shushes her, telling her he wants the kids to figure it out. The Shonen Tantei strain over it, getting part of the riddle. Sonoko gets it next, gushing out the next part of the riddle, then fumbling with the explination. Conan walks up to join their circle, finishing and explaining the riddle.

It's just as bad as Agasa's riddles. -_-

Curtain time.

Everyone takes their seats in the upper balcony, over looking the stage. Shin'ichi's not with them, he's down on the first floor leaning on a wall by one of the doors, talking to a police man. Conan's sitting at the end of row, watching him intently. The lights die down and Conan switches his glasses over to night vision mode (5th movie reference) to watch Shin'ichi as the police officer leaves. Shin'ichi watches the stage.

The play begins, there's dancing and singing, Pan Tooru's character introduces Napoleon and Josephine's to each other, they sparkle at each other, Shin'ichi looks bored.

The Star Sapphire ring is introduced, Shinjou Isaa's character gives it to Josephine. Shin'ichi continues to look bored. Napoleon throws a fit about the ring while Shin'ichi yawns, looking extremely bored.

The finale comes, Josephine comes on stage in what appears to be a wedding gown, and multiple female attendants carrying the train. Sonoko and Ran gasp and marvel over the gown, along with the rest of the audience.

Shin'ichi looks directly up at Conan, grins like a Kid in the candy store, and gives him a wave as he turns and walks out the door he's been standing next to.

Conan mutters something to Haibara, who he's been sitting next to (instant mental translation: Cover for me!), Haibara looks rather confused and disgruntled (instant mental translation: Cover for you? -How-?!) as he vaults the arm chair and takes off running down the aisle. He bursts through the doors at the top, runs downstairs, turns the corner and bumps into a rather large belly, knocking him backwards and to the floor, his backpack cushioning the fall.

A rather portly officer looks down at him, apologising and asking if he's okay as Conan gets to his feet and brushes himself off. The officer looks rather concerned and apologetic looking him over. A second officer, taller and thinner with a thin face and closed eyes (think Brock from Pokémon, with a longer face) comes up and asks the Bouya if he's okay. Conan emphatically repeats that he's fine, a 'gotcha' grin spreading across his face before he appears oh-so innocent and points out that isn't there something funny with the second officer? Something different from what the first officer has?

Meanwhile, back at the theatre, Ran and Sonoko have noticed something odd, that makes Ran groan and sweatdrop. On stage in costume next to the throne is Nakamori and Mouri, doing a pissed off 'Hey Abbot' impression.

The officers look down, examining each other's uniforms before the second officer disconnects a nightstick from his belt, smiling politely and trying to explain why his nightstick is longer than the first officers. Conan doesn't look convinced and continues to pressure him, stating regulations and threatening to report him to his superiors. The first officer stays silent, just watching them with a perplexed expression. Second officer finally grins and slaps the top of the nightstick, causing a bright flash of light to blind both of them and takes off running.

Conan follows, growling as the Kid grins and darts into an elevator, the doors closing just before Conan hits them. Luckily for him, the elevator next to it dings and opens up. Some people dressed for the theatre walk out talking and he darts in, hitting the buttons and the doors close.

The elevator opens up and Conan runs out, straining to see where the Kid went. It's dark and we're now back to the opening scene. Conan darts to the top of the stairs to where the Kid-Officer is clearly waiting for him, standing in the middle of the helicopter pad.

Small banter as Kid rips off his disguise and Conan reaches down and activates his shoes. Kid shoots at him with his card gun, Conan dodges, activates a inflatable soccer ball from in his belt buckle (yeah, okay, you try to describe that and not sound perverted) and kicks it at the Kid's head. Kid leans to the side to avoid it and shoots at Conan again. Conan jumps backwards to avoid. Ran's voice echo's out. "Conan-kun! Dinner's ready! Come downstairs or I won't save any for you!" Conan looks around, then realises that it's the Kid, playing a trick on him. Conan jumps again as more cards follow, embedding themselves in the concrete as he narrowly avoiding each time. The Kid grins manically as he fires.

Conan finds himself between a rock and a hard place, almost literally, as he finds his back against one of the metal posts of the fence surrounding the helipad. Kid says something, (Tantei-kun) then fires again. Conan ducks, leaping to the side, the card sticking out of the metal post by one corner right between where Conan's eyes had been.

Conan lands poorly and stumbles, rolling under the fence and off the side of the building with a small yelp.

Kid has a minor 'Oh, Shit' moment as he activates the hang glider and dives after him as fast as he can. He spots Conan in freefall and angles for him, drawing up almost parallel to the falling tantei to grab him when Conan rolls onto his back and shoots a sleeping dart at him. Kid veers to avoid, causing him to soar out of grabbing range.

Conan now has an 'Oh, shit' moment of his own as he rolls back onto his stomach, then pulls on two metal loops of the backpack he's been wearing all night.

~FOOM!!~ A military-green parachute opens up, catching the breeze and slowing his decent.

Understanding and resignation flickers across the Kids face as he smirks. Para-glider against Hang glider, huh? He's fine with that.

Back on stage, the final curtain begins to fall. Napoleon and Josephine clasp hands onstage, lifting them up and taking a bow. Mouri and Nakamori watch intently as the curtain drops down, down, down...

The curtain its the stage. NOW!!! Get him!! Nakamori and Mouri shout, pointing at Narusawa Funjiroo. as the rest of the extras on stage shed their robes, revealing police uniforms. They promptly dogpile on the actor, knocking him to the ground and piling on him until they're chest deep and all you can is a confused Funjiroo who is loudly protesting what the hell are they doing and that he really is himself.

Nakamori grabs his cheeks and attempts to pull his face off. It's really his face as well, much to Mouri and Nakamori's confusion. If the actor is really himself, then where is the Kid?

Kid and Conan race across the breezes, in between buildings, Conan gaining on the more acrobatic and heavier Kid. A train leaves the subway station below them, which Kid notices and dives towards, smirking. Conan realises what he's about to do and resolutely follows.

The Thief gets above the train and releases the belt from around his waist, disconnecting himself and landing in a crouch on a car towards the middle of the train, capeless. He turns, grinning and waves up at Conan as the train starts to speed ahead. "Bai bai!!"

Conan's not about to let him go -that- easily. He disconnects himself from the para-glider as well, dropping down on to the last car and rolling backwards until he gets his balance. There's some banter as he crawls forward until the Kid points up, something glinting from his waist.

There's a wire leading from the Kid to his hang glider, which is following above them.

Conan curses, darting forward until he's on the end of the car the Kid's resting on. Kid makes a parting comment, triggering a winch that pulls him quickly into the air. Hands up, he grabs the handles and flies away, hanging from the glider.

Below him, Conan watches him glide away from the top of the subway, going the opposite direction.

+++ sorry in advance, no notes on this part, some if it may be slightly out of order

Scene change, its daylight now, and everyone is at the airport (it looks like the lower level of Narita Airport, BTW. Definitely -not- LAX). As a thank you for saving her ring, Juri has invited everyone to Sapphro and there appears to be trouble with the seats. Shinjou Isaa has also backed out of the flight, apparently much to Juri's irritation. She's still wearing the ring, which both Pan Tooru and Narusawa Funjiroo take her hand and kiss when they appear. The rest of the actors appear in street clothes, Pan Tooru with his balding hair back in a ponytail and in lots of gold jewellery and body hair. ~_~

Both the actors and the regular DC crew end up on the same flight, first class on Sky Japan. The Shonen Tantei are excited, bouncing in their seats, looking around and amazed at how cool everything is. Ran's looking around as well, looking fairly nervous about something. Mouri on the other hand looks like he's ready to fall asleep. (what happened to his fear of heights?)

Juri has her hands on her stomach, either something she ate or nervousness is making it rather upset. Across the aisle from her, Tajimo Tenko evidently understands the problem and pulls out her purse, pulling a bottle out and spilling two white pills into Juri's hand. Juri thanks her, swallowing them dry, her body settling down.

Another person enters the first class section, a female who we don't see. Ran looks delighted as the woman spots the first open seat... the window seat next to Mouri. She asks if the seat is open, snapping Mouri out of a half-doze. He looks up, in the process of saying that it's free when you see the woman's face. "You!"

"Anata!!"

Ran stands up, big grin and chattering as the separated couple mirror each other's reactions, right down to the vein pop. Mouri un-latches the seat belt and stalks to the front, where he asks Juri if he could sit by her. She assures him that he may, which he takes great pleasure in doing.

Erii's not amused, walking up and pointedly talking to Juri, asking her a question. Juri answers, goes back to staring ahead. Mouri looks victorious. Erii looks vindictive, reaches in and pulls out her card, talking pleasantly to Juri once more. Juri takes the card and Erii walks off, point obviously scored. (heck if I know)

Erii takes the window seat next to where Mouri had been sitting earlier, across from Ran, who looks disappointed. Erii cheers her up and both girls smile at each other.

Shinjou Isaa appears, evidently he could make it after all. He kneels by Juri's seat, who's in the aisle seat of left hand front row, closest to the cockpit and talks with her, taking her hand and kissing the ring before taking his seat towards the back. Conan watches all of this with narrowed eyes.

The two pilots in the cockpit talk with the tower, speaking in English as they get ready to take off. (English being the language that all pilots speak when in contact with the tower. It's a worldwide official something or another.) The tower responses and the plane is taxied to the runway.

Meanwhile, in another part of Japan, it's raining on a mailbox with a person's name on it. Nakamori and his men are outside of it, talking on the radios and to each other. There's a light on in the house that they're keeping an eye on.

A shadow passes by. It's the Kid.

Conan smirks, something finally falling into place. The first part of the clue, "Romeo, Juliet, Victor, Bravo!" is pilot speak. R=Romeo, J=Juliet, V=Victor, B=Bravo. (RJVB?! The flight they're in only has a few of the letters!) Combine that with the 2 of Spades card cut in half, the Kid obviously planned to pull the heist off in the airplane, signifying a two part heist, which is why he allowed himself to be driven away from the theatre so easily.

The Kid is someone in the room with them.

The plane takes off and from beside Agasa, Ayumi complains that her ears feel weird. Across the aisle, Genta comments the same and Mitsuhiko audibly gulps, then explains that sometimes that can help you 'pop' your ears, getting them used to the cabin pressure. Both Genta and Ayumi try, but it doesn't work. Mitsuhiko hesitates, then shows them the Valasalva Manuver - you pinch your nose shut, seal your mouth and blow.

Genta tries it first, then announces brightly that it worked - a trail of snot leading from his nose to his hand. Ayumi smiles and goes to try it, only to find Conan, one aisle up and diagonal from her, watching with amusement. She tells him not to look, which he grudgingly does. Sitting next to Conan in the window seat, Haibara gets in a snarky comment as the camera pulls back to show Ran, sitting in front of Conan, Haibara and Ayumi, whose ears are obviously okay now.

Juri's looking kind of fidgety and as soon as the seatbelt sign goes off, she undoes her seatbelt, obviously intending to go to the lavatory, a few steps ahead of her and behind the blue curtain. Mouri pulls out an autograph board and asks her to sign it for him, laughing nervously. Someone walks into the lav. Juri smiles at him, taking the autograph board as he looks for a pen. Not finding on, Sakai Natsuki offers to get one while Mouri laughs, extremely embarrassed. Natsuki gives Juri a marker, which she signs the board with.

In the cockpit, one of the pilots yawns and the other chuckles, asking if they should get coffee. The other seems to think that would be a good idea, so they ring for coffee.

Mouri's ecstatic to have the board, and Juri gives the marker back to the smiling Natsuki, getting ready to get up to use the lav. Only to find someone else using it, as well as the one in the back. She waits impatiently. A stewardess with a tray carrying two cups of coffee walks forward. Conan makes note of it.

The stewardess rings the captain, informing him that it's her with the coffee. He welcomes her in and she enters the access code to get in the door. The door opens and she comes in.

The person in the lav has left, and Juri gets up, finding the door open and greets the pilots. The stewardess protests, passengers aren't supposed to be there, but the pilots welcome her in, (they're either old friends or fans of hers). The captain takes off the glove to shake her hand, but she subtly insists that he kiss her ring. Which he does, the co-pilot following her example.

Conan observes all this, then sneaks back to his seat. Juri returns to her seat, having done what she needed to. (note: she's in the lav less time then it would take a guy to pee)

Yaguchi comes up with a box of chocolates, it looks like Juri is picky about her chocolates, which Juri takes a moment to deliberate over which one to eat, before taking one at random and popping it into her mouth with much enjoyment, licking her lips then her fingers. Yaguchi offers one to Mouri, who enthusiastically takes one.

Juri's eyes go wide as her mouth opens in a wheeze. A hand goes to her throat as she falls down, eyes still wide, foaming slightly at the mouth.

Dead.

Insert gratuitous screaming here. You know the drill.

Mouri and Conan rush forward, attempting to take her pulse, declare her dead. The smell of almonds is noted, it's cyanide. Obvious conclusion: It was the chocolates. Mouri freaks out, since he ate one as well.

... It's pointed out that he'd be frothing at the mouth, keeling over and dieing now of it had been the chocolates. He calms down a bit. Sakai Natsuki stands up and tells the detectives

Regular detective stuff here. Mouri makes his usual crack pot theories, Yaguchi is accused because of the chocolates, Natsuki is accused for passing Juri the pen, Tajimo Tenko is accused because of the pills before take off, but all the theories are shot down. Erii is keeping Conan on his toes, being very observant. Blame is tossed around by the actors, Sakai Natsuki stands up and tells the detectives how everyone -really- got along with Juri. Turns out no one did well, Juri was a back stabbing maniacal bitch behind everyone's back. Are we surprised? No.

Conan figures everything out, aims the watch to shoot Mouri, who's talking with Erii. Just as he pulls the trigger, the plane lurches, Mouri falling to the side and the dart striking Erii instead. Whoops. Brief moment of panic as Erii is settled into her seat, Conan sticking one of the speaker buttons on her and ducks out of site, moving the dial on the bow tie around.

(Imp thought right here: It'd be really funny if he got the voice wrong. He's always getting it right...)

'Erii' begins to speak. Everyone blinks in shock, looking at Sonoko, then at Ran's mom. Conan blanches and quickly corrects the dial - he had it turned to Sonoko. Oopsie.

(Imp thought right here: They did it! I can't believe they actually did that! Hahahahaa!!!)

Erii solves the mystery, the cyanide that killed Juri was mixed with her foundation make up that was put on the sides of her nose. She disappeared into the bathroom to do the Valasalva Manuver, thus getting the cyanide on her fingers, which she then licked off when she ate her chocolates.

The only person possible of doing this: Sakai Natsuki, the make-up artist.

Think Natsuki wanted to work in Hollywood, but Juri wouldn't allow her to, treating her like a personal servant. The poison in the foundation is why she wouldn't let Ayumi look at it earlier either. Natsuki breaks down in tears, talking about a Make-up Artist's Pride.

Mystery solved, everyone's relaxing, but Conan's got an annoying feeling that some isn't right. Something to do with Juri's trip up to the cockpit.

Then it hits him. In a panic, he gets the flight attendant to un-seal the cockpit in time to watch the pilots slump over onto the steering yoke. Wheeeeeeeoooooooooo... Plane goes into a nose dive. Lots of screaming and falling over of passengers ensues.

The pilot is pulled back off the yoke, but the plane is still doing a swan dive. Conan wedges himself in-between the pilot and the steering yoke, bracing his feet on the dash and pulling up with all the might in his little body. He struggles with it, but he gets the nose up and the flight levelled off again. He looks around at all the controls, trying to find one when one of the actors, Shinjoou Isaa, walks forward and with a grin flips a switch, activating the auto-pilot.

Isaa explains that he has some piloting experience, which surprises the rest of the acting troupe. Ah, the secrets they keep from each other. One of the flight attendants makes an all systems page, asking if there is a doctor in the house. Fortunately, it appears there was one back in economy class. Pan Tooru and Narusawa Funjiroo help get the pilots out of the chairs (which have to have a switch activated, sliding the chair back then rotating to face the walkway) The plane lurches as they do so, Tooru staggering for a moment, accidentally hitting the ceiling, full of lots of switches and buttons before he catches his balance and continues forward.

Isaa puts the headset on, taking over the captain's chair. Other people want to be up there as well, but he insists on Conan as his co-pilot. Conan smiles cheerfully, radiating 'innocent boy' as he takes over the co-pilot's chair. Everyone else returns to their seats.

Conan smiles at Isaa.

Isaa smiles back.

-Kid and Conan decide to form a temporary truce while they attempt to fly the jumbo jet. Such smart boys. Kid drops the Isaa voice, but keeps the rest of the disguise on. Conan inquires about the real Isaa's whereabouts.

Flashover to the Real Shinjoou Isaa, dressed as the Kid, panicking and sweating as he drives his little vehicle like a maniac down the road, wondering what the heck did he do to ever deserve this while Nakamori and a huge line of police officers chase him with flashing lights on the tops of their cars.

Conan and Kid talk a bit (I have no clue what about) until they get within range of the airport tower and explain to the controller what's going on. The Controller is a bit surprised to hear Conan's voice but begins to talk them down. Landing the plane is going to be a bit trickier than expected, there's a massive storm coming in. Thunder, lightening and massive winds.

Erii is still asleep, passed out in her seat from where she'd 'solved' the mystery. Korogo notices, gets really nervous then hesitantly fastens the seatbelt around her waist and shrinks back to his seat. The landing path becomes visible and they angle for it, the plane being bounced around by the winds. - only to be struck by lightening. *poof* all electricity goes bai-bai. Cabin is now dark.

Conan and Kid both panic, the radio controller guy explains how to turn the power back on, which they do. (evidently, lightening strikes do happen to planes) But now there's a second problem. Remember that switch Tooru hit when he stumbled? On top of the wind, the rain and the lightening, it's now affecting the plane as well.

And they're getting closer to the runway. They can't steer.

Danger Will Robinson, Danger.

Kid's struggling with that, controller tells them how to de-activate that, Kid now has manual control of the yoke. He's struggling with it, but he's got it. The wheels are down, they're ready to land.

Peachy, right?

Wrong. We've still got a ways to go in this movie.

BIG gust of wind then pushes the plane out of the landing path, into a collision course with the main airport and control tower. People in the control tower panic. The people on the plane panic. Conan panics, shouts at Kid. Kid grits his teeth and pulls on the yoke, trying desperately to avoid hitting the buildings. He gets the nose of the to get the nose of the plane up, leaning it to the right, back towards the runway.

The nose and side kiss the tower. Unfortunately, the inside engine on the starboard side strikes the roof of the control tower and rips it off the wing.

Y'know, you really don't realise just how large those engines are until you see one fall several stories to the ground and realise that it's about a fifth of the height of the tower.

:: BOOM! ::

The engine explodes, creating a shockwave that sends flaming shrapnel everywhere, setting fire to a nearby fuel truck, which then explodes and sends out another shockwave, which hits an airplane, which explodes, which sends fire even further...

Two kids are pressed up against the window, watching the side of the airport burn with expressions of awe and amazement. "Sugee!!!!"

Kid pulls the plane back up into the sky, watching the growing fire with a pained expression on his face. (instant mental translator, Kid's thoughts right about here: "I SO do not need this on my record...") Landing at the airport is not an option for them anymore. In addition, they've lost contact with the control tower. The good news being that everyone in the tower ducked, crouching low and managed to avoid the any major injuries. The lead controller they'd been talking to, bleeding from a head wound, watches them fly off, wishing them luck.

The Shonen Tantei, Ran and Sonoko rush forward, letting them know an engine is missing. Which Conan and Kid kind of already knew. But there's a bigger problem. When the engine was torn off, it tore the fuel line. They're rapidly loosing fuel as they speak.

Solution: They're going to need another landing strip. Quickly. And it's going to have to be an emergency landing.

Problem: They don't have enough fuel to get to another airport. And they can't go back.

Kid's back in Isaa voice as they calculate about how far they can go on the decreasing amount of fuel they have. Ideas are tossed back and forth, Conan sends Ayumi to grab a book of maps from the space behind the cockpit, Haibara follows, helping her find the right one. (Ayumi's not so good with romanji) Conan quickly flips through the book, trying to come up with some place that's long, straight and empty enough to use as a runway.

Mitsuhiko spots upon an idea, the pages are flipped to a stretch of docking along the ocean. It's empty, flat and just barely long enough to work.

Most importantly, it's a working course of action.

Kid, still using Isaa's voice, asks a question to the crowd in the cockpit. Ran quickly answers it first. Kid then promptly hands the controls over to her. Ran's flustered, but Kid-Isaa assures her that she can do it, pats her on the shoulder and heads back to the main cabin, where everyone's looking nervous. Sonoko follows, talking to him, demanding to know what's going on.

Kid-Isaa walks over to the hatch at the back of the cabin, and opens it. VOOOOOOSH~ Instant vacuum. The door goes flying out into the night sky. Sonoko stares, blushing as the Kid makes a final comment to her, then hops out the door, and GRINS (the big old wide grins you used to get in the MK manga, before DC, the kind that takes up half his face and say it's good to be alive). The grin stays on his face as the wind grabs him, whips him under the wing where it's missing the engine and out into the open sky. Evidently he figures that they're going to be alright, now's a good time to make good his escape with the Star of Destiny, before the police show up. The wanker.

Ran's very nervous, arms on the controls as Conan grounds out curses at the Kid for abandoning them. (Neechan commet: No nookie tonight, dangit.)

Megure, Shiratori and Takagi are up on top of the police station's rooftops, enjoying both the view and a moment's peace.

(instant mental translation:
"It's such a nice night tonight..."
"Yeah..."
"It's so peaceful...."
"Yeah..."
"And the stars are so pretty..."
"Yeah...")

Nakamori and the long line of flashing police cars and loud sirens make their appearance, chasing the still panicking Isaa.

The three men watch for a moment, then Shiratori and Megure turn and head back for the stairs, a dumbfounded Takagi following a moment after them. (instant mental translation, Megure: "Well, that's enough of that. Off we go.")

The passengers on the upper deck move to the lower deck, strapping in and bracing for impact. The doctor is there as well, with both of the pilots, who seem to be unconscious, but alive.

Ran's handling the plane pretty well all together. She's scared shitless, but Sonoko is doing her best to calm her down, cheer her on and just be there for her. Conan's doing the same, but Ran just seems to be getting more and more withdrawn.

Conan excuses himself because he has to go use the toilet and has Sonoko take his place as co-pilot as he heads out of the cockpit. The upper level is now empty of people, he crouches down next to the open door the Kid left through, the wind blowing in his hair. Pulling out his cell-phone earring and the voice changer tie, he calls Ran up in the cockpit.

As Shin'ichi, he tries to cheer her up and help talk her through landing the plane via the phone. It doesn't seem to be quite working, she's just getting more and more upset. Finally she bursts out "Shin'ichi, suki da yo!" ("Shin'ichi, I love you" for the English speakers)

Full stop. (for those of you who have seen screen caps, this is where you see Conan with Shin'ichi overlaid in the background looking like he's just been hit over the head with a large wood plank.)

Nakamori and his men have the real Isaa, still dressed as the Kid, cornered. Quite literally. Isaa has climbed up into a large abstractish statue and has gotten himself entangled in it, loudly protesting that he is not the Kid. The men poke him with large sticks, trying to get him down. Megure, Shiratori and Takagi have joined them, watching from the edges. Nakamori's shouting that they've finally got the Kid.

(Instant mental translation:
Megure: "So that's the Kid."
Nakamori: "Yes!"
Megure: "So who's that Kid?")

The Kid flies by on his glider, waving. The real Isaa, the officers and Nakamori stare for a moment.

The officers back to the cars. The chase resumes.

Conan smiles fondly as Ran cries and continues to talk to him. Tender words are exchanged, Ran sits up proud and tall, an Amazon with a mission. The dock is in the distance now, it's time to set the plane down.

There's a small problem with the fact that they're having a really hard time -seeing- where they want to land however. It's night time. Dark wood, dark water, few lights.

Kid to the rescue. Soars by on his hang glider, startling a grandfather fishing with his grandson on the edge of the dock, the police on his tail. The police with their flashing lights. Their flashing lights that they use to surround the dock with before getting out and jumping the grandfather to see if he's the Kid.

The dock is now clearly outlined and illuminated from the air. Ran aims for it.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOSH!! The plane comes in, the landing wheels taking the lights off the top of one of the cars on the very end of the dock, nearly hitting an officer. Policemen scatter, surprised by the plane's sudden entrance.

The plane's on the runway, it's slowing, but now there's a secondary problem. It's not slowing down in time to avoid crashing into the giant metal crane at the far end of the dock that they're rapidly coming up on. Big Drama.

(um... apology here folks... as we're writing this last bit, its been six months since we saw the movie on opening day. Slight mental blank here, if anyone can fill it in, would greatly appreciate it. At this point, it's mystical magical appearing sand. Poof. Thanks.)

The plane hits the giant pile of sand/gravel/crumbled earthy stuff, which absorbs the impact, turning the plane slightly sideways as it slows. The pressure pushes the crane over at an angle as the plane finally comes to a rest.

Pause. Deep breath of relief.

The police are there, helping unload everyone as the camera pans back. The Kid watches them from his perch high up on the crane. End song starts to play, credits start to roll.

Credits roll. *hums along to music*

Ending scene:

People are milling around the plane. There’s paramedics now mixed in with the people wandering around, and Ran's sitting on the end of an ambulance, a blanket wrapped around her and sipping a warm beverage. She's looking kind of tired. Standing beside her is a paramedic, his face obscured by a helmet. He hands her a clipboard and a pen, with papers to sign on it, asking for her name and her hip-waist-bust measurement.

She's in the middle of signing when she realizes exactly what he just asked and startles, looking up at him. It's the Kid, grinning at her. He complements her, then disappears in a poof of smoke and confetti.

Conan walks up, missing the Kid's disappearance. Ran's grinning broadly, looking relieved and excited.

She thinks that it was Kid on the phone talking her down, pretending to be Shin'ichi. Therefore she didn't tell Shin'ichi that she loved him, she told Kid that she loved Shin'ichi. Thus saving a realllllllllllly big talk between her and the missing detective.

Her phone rings, it's Conan, pretending to be Shin'ichi. Who is now really annoyed at the Kid.

^______^

Thanks to Sleepy Howie for corrections on the first half.

First off, LOVED the movie. Great fun, I want to see it again (And again and again), maybe with English subtitles this time. ^_______^ There's only so much you can understand with a weak Japanese vocabulary and reading body language.
But... there were quite a few things that annoyed me with it.

The first Kid vs Conan encounter.
Kid's aiming to HIT with the cards Conan with this damn snide maniacal grin. The same cards that are embedding themselves into concrete and steel. Do not want to think of what would have happened if he hadn't missed.
Especially because the Kid has proven before that he is not a murder (re: his father's death). His jumping after Conan makes sense, just not the leading up to it. *raises eyebrow* o_O

Physics thing: Why wasn't Conan pulled out the open door when he's crouched -right by it-? More importantly, why not move to the other side of the plane?
Electronics thing: Why isn't the rushing wind going past the open door Conan's crouched by and not being blown out or being picked up by the cell phone?

This is the second movie they've crash-landed an aerial vehicle. They landed a helicopter in the Teitan Elementary playground in the 14th Target.

Kid things:

• The object of the heist was a ring being used in a play.
- Same as Green Dream, one of the last chapters of the manga.

• Use of the light baton to blind people.
- Also used in Green Dream, the stage lights blinded the audience so Kid could steal the emerald.

• Dark Para-glider vs Hang-glider
- Chat Noir does the same in 'Golden Eye'

• Kid was easy to spot as Isaa. Isaa had cancelled, then suddenly shows up, saying he can make it again.
- Kid pulls a similar trick disguised as Shiratori in the 3rd movie, last Wizard of the Century.

• The heist was in two parts, as stated in the riddle on the Heist note
- Did the same thing in 'Blue Wonder'

• The victim is poisoned, it's cyanide on her hands, then she eats something.
- Same as the first murder in Sunset Mansion.

• Kid asks Ran for her bust-waist-hip measurements at the end.
- He should know them after masquerading as her in The Black Star case! (okay, yes, teasing factor, but still... _ )
