Memories of Japan: Food
Apr. 29th, 2003 02:03 pmOkay, the thing that is setting this off.
Yoshinoya.
Good teriyaki bowls in the States. But in Japan, they serve the food in large ceramic bowls, not these styrofoam thingies.
I miss crepes.
Good, fresh off the grill crepes, found nearly everywhere, for 300yen.
Even if we did have to translate 'Blueberries and Cream' into Engrish to be understood.
By the way, Blueberries + Whipped Cream = Good.
Blueberries + Cream Cheese = Not So Good. But still edible.
Milk tea. Omigosh, have we ever been addicted to milk tea. You could go just about anywhere, and there would be a vending machine with milk tea in it. Or a Sun Kist with different kinds of milk tea. Or Fruit Milk Tea.
The little Lipton cartons are my fave. 200 yen will get you one and a hot anpan out of the warmer, and that's a good meal for me right there.
*purrrrrrrrrrrs*
