ickaimp | Kousetsu Hyaku Monogatari

Has anyone seen a new anime series called "Kousetsu Hyaku Monogatari" (Hundred Stories)? Is being fansubbed by Ani-Kraze, and there's about 11 episodes out currently.

Neechan introduced it to me last weekend, and we've only seen the first 2 episodes and we're hooked. It's about an authour collecting Ghost Stories during the Bakumatsu Period (1853-1868/73). (Meiji Era: 1868-1912. Bakumatsu is the end of the military government). Unfortunately for him, he kinda ends up stumbling into a group of, well, supernatural beings who are travelling around and acting basically as a group of judges, catching and 'righting' past wrongs. Usually murder mysteries, solved with a ghostly bent. ^___^

From what I understand, it's based of the orginal Konjaku Monogatari (Tales of Times now Past), written in the Heian Period (794-1192). There are 31 volumes to it (three are missing) with over 1000 stories in it, from Japan and India.

er... not that we like anything supernatural, not us... ^^;;

But the opening and ending songs caught our attention. They're kinda bluesy, very haunting, and for some reason, sung all in english. Kinda hoping someone knows the group or the name of the songs. The first one is sung with 2-3 parts sometimes, very neat.

... the kicker to the whole thing is that it's the same animation group who does Detective Conan. ^^;; Go figure.
