The Titanic is Sinking.

General consensus after the exhibit has been open for less than a week:
Corporate is trying to f*ck us over.
It boils down to two things: Layout and Attitude.
When I showed up on Saterday, I had 3 entrances to watch over, the rules weren't visible and people weren't getting to photo. Customers were frustrated and aggressive, and I was getting the same.
So I moved the barricades so I had 1 entrance, obvious rules, easy flow of traffic that lead straight into photo. Happy Customers.
Corporate showed up, announced that the barricades were ugly (Corporate had sent the wrong bases, they didn't fit) and I now have a complaint on my record with them for changing the layout. The quote being the head guy was 'Fucking Pissed'.
Barricades being removed makes my job easier, as long as there is only one or two people coming in at a time. We get a rush and there's nowhere and everywhere for them to go. And the only way for me to direct them is by being loud. Photo is no help.
Photo person must be in two different rooms at the same time. We have been informed from the top that we must use a setting that renders the people horribly dark, and will be written up if we change it to something that works. We are also 'too small' to have the device that will automatically download the photos from the camera to the machine in the other room.
Supposedly, the managers will be there to pass the memory sticks back and forth, but that's not happening.
Because the Managers are now shoved in a closet in the back of the exhibit, not the front like they were previously. There is also a serious dis-inclination from 3 of the 4 managers to leave the office. It took 15 minutes on Sunday to take my 15 minute break, because I had to get a manager to replace a docent to take my place. ~_~
The Managers themselves --the same guys from Bodies-- appear tired, worn and burnt out.
Retail is missing many of the barcodes and prices they need, and Corporate is refusing to answer their questions. Such as 'what is this replica ring made of? And will it stain your finger green?'. They also have a new computer system, so if you have the price but not the barcode, you cannot enter the price in.
If you wish to work as an Actor in the back and are a guy, sailor uniforms are provided for you.
If you wish to work as an Actor in the back and are a girl, you must provide your entire costume, at your own expense, on your own.
-pretty sure that counts as discrimination.
The word from Corporate is that 'This is Titanic, it's not Bodies', therefore we need to adjust our attitudes appropriately.
IMHO, it's because the insurance on Titanic is ridiculously high. (you can always get more cadavers, but sunken relics are horrendously hard to get a hold of)
I'm trying to be positive about the exhibit itself but... It's only about a hundred years old. You can go down to a vintage shop and find similar things. It's, well, boring. The stories about the people who survived or died are kind of interesting in a morbid voyeuristic sort of way. The only excitement is when someone leans on a case and sets the security system off.
And while you can touch an 'iceberg', it's flat, 4 inches thick, 6ft high and in the rough shape of an iceberg. Whoo.
Entrance fee is $22. Or, you can see a Titanic exhibit that's twice the size, has some of the recovered jewellery and touch a bulkhead for $28 at the permanent exhibit in Vegas.
After this weekend, I'm officially switching to one day a week. Honestly, since I already have a full-time job, I'm putting serious thought into quitting all together.
I'm -that- unimpressed.
And with opening ticket sales being less than 15% of what Bodies was, apparently I'm not the only one. -_-
