[29] [fic] The Dog
Okay... the Telepaths on 009 sucked.
And the crotching kid bit 002 on the nose. Bad kid. *scolds* Leave 002's snoz outta this!
I lied on the 'no ficcing' today, and bonus, it's random comedy!
The topic that day, of all things was 'The Dog'. Keiko had brought in a new pencil box with a picture of the super
deformed puppy with the overly large nose and cute ayes and all the girls had been squealing over it, and picking their
favourites out of the sticker set that came with it.
Kaito's suggestion that Akako was a Chihuahua was immediately turned down however.
Which was precisely why it was the wrong moment for Hakuba Saguru to walk past their little circle. Aoko's eyes had lit
up as she put two and two together and exclaimed "Hakuba-kun would be an English Bulldog!"
This caused the tall boy to stop and peer at their group with not a little amount of confusion. "I beg your pardon?"
"You do know what they look like, right?" Keiko asked the wild haired girl.
"Well.. They're stubborn, right?" Aoko explained. "And really good protectors, like Hakuba-kun! And they're both from
England!"
"Just imagine him with jowls!" Kaito smirked, pinching his own cheeks and comically stretching his mouth out.
Hakuba glared at him. "There are other dogs from England, Nakamori-chan." He informed her politely.
"Like English Sheepdogs!" Kaito volunteered, standing up to place a hand on top of Hakuba's skull and pushing his bangs
down into his face. "See the similarities?!"
"You are not nearly as amusing as you think you are." Hakuba none so gently pushed him back into his chair.
"I don't think a Sheepdog fits Hakuba-kun." Aoko shook her head.
"However, he does bark a lot and try to herd the Kid." Akako grinned.
Keiko hummmed at the thought. "Rather like chasing cats, isn't it?"
Aoko came to Hakuba's rescue before the rapidly becoming red-faced detective could reply. "What about a hunting
dog?"
"A Beagle!" Kaito cheered, making motions with his hands to something rather small and easily carried.
"No, you may not compare me into something small and drop-kickable, Kuroba."
"Dangit."
"Basset Hound?" Keiko suggested.
"Isn't 'Labrador' part of England?" Akako commented
Aoko blinked. "Like a Labrador Retriever?"
"Fetch the Kid, Hakuba-kun!" Keiko cheered, waving an arm excitedly "Fetch the Kid!"
Hakuba put a hand on Kaito's head, causing the magician to close his jaw with a snap. "Quite." He said drolly.
"Good boy!" Akako smirked, giving Hakuba enough of a shove to cause him to lose his balance and come crashing down
onto Kaito. "Now SIT! Stay!"
The boys froze, Hakuba was half seated, sprawled in Kaito's lap, the wild haired boys arms partly around him from
attempting to catch him out of reflex.
"If he's good, does that means he gets a bone?" Keiko mused thoughtfully.
The boys glared at her.
