Am currently reading 'High School Musical' fanfic.

Is all lil_1337's fault. She showed me the baseball dancing ~~flirting~~ (to which i laughed my arse off) and then pointed me in the direction of good fic. *whimpers* Am weak to shiny fiction.

Have yet to watch the movies however ^^;; Am totally not writing for this fandom.

However, am debating going back to re-reading and playing in 'Black Cat' for a bit, there's a New Years Resolution Prompt at Yuletide Treasure that caught our attention.

Ficcage is being more sporadically than we'd like, it all depends on when we can grab a computer to write. Currently being worked on:
'The one where Saguru isn't crushing on the Kaitou Kid'
Sock puppet's non-pr0nish sequel to the pr0n
Gordian Knot

.... Y'can tell which ones have titles. Have some others in the wings, although debating of we wanna get the 'Shonen Tantei 10 years in the future' plunnie before the next OVA comes out.

Speaking of Conan, what do you guys think of the Shiratori/Kobayashi-sensei pairing? O_o

I read way more fandoms than we write, and sometimes they get a little weird. ^^;;

I quite like it. It came way out of the left field and was a cheap way to remove all threat to the Takagi/Sato pairing, but still. It's cute to see Shiratori infatuated with a girl that isn't Sato. And Kobayashi gets a chance at satisfying her love of detectives that doesn't mean encroaching on the DBs (- not that she's gonna stop, mind.)
And although it's a childhood romance thing, again, it's not a childhood friendship flowering into a romance. It's Shiratori being clumsy and hardly knowing anything about Kobayashi apart from she's the DB's teacher and she likes cops. It's Kobayashi being clueless about why she is getting such attention and enjoying it all the same. It's...
It's probably gonna be the new equivalent of Taka-Sato story if ever Conan decides to go for the 100 book mark. *sigh* But still. Cute. ♥

Thank you! I think that was it exactly. Was trying to figure what was bothering me about the pairing, because I'm constantly left with a sense that Shiratori deserves -better-.

-Granted, m'not a huge Shiratori fan, but the whole 'destined romance' thing smacks of bad or lazy writing. >P

Alas for us, Gosho isn't exactly known for not being a lazy writer. :)

Re: the new Conan pairing, it'll be interesting to see where he takes it (if he takes it anywhere). I never thought I'd actually find myself starting to like Shiratori ^^;;

Have mostly been finding fic off of Delicious Bookmarks (http://delicious.com/roseclaw/chad%2Fryan). Everything's been decent thus far. ^___^ Mostly reading Chad/Ryan. #^^#

I had a momentary panic attack over how to say some of the names, but R, who speaks really good Japanese, assures me I said them as right as an American can get.

I sort of like it, if only to keep him off of Takagi and Satou at LAST. Besides, Kobayashi-sensei is adorable and SHiratori disposed to be adoring. Could be worse.

...anyway, Shiratori was awfully stalker-ish for a while there. It was getting disturbing.

He was getting stalker-ish, Yeah.

Something I pointed out to Bex was that from my reading into the Police Departments, if Shiratori wants to continue his fast escalation up the police ladder, he needs to be married by 30.
So I kinda wonder if his stalker tendencies weren't because he had a deadline looming up, to find the 'girl of his flashbacks' so he could continue with his chosen path.
... Although I think he's a bit more of a closet romantic than that. ^^;;

That could actually have been his compromise between advancement and romance--he honestly thought he was in love with Satou, and who better to understand a policeman's lot?

Aside from the whole 'double-seme' vibe. XD Kobayashi-sensei is sweet enough to put up with him, and won't have to be a housewife for regulations' sake. She doesn't quite seem the sort to quit just because it's expected either.

Possibly not, but then again, the teacher she was replacing quit because she was pregnant... *shrugs*

I hope she doesn't ever quit though, even in Shiratori's flashback, she seemed the sort to want to keep the youth of the day on the straight path. (Hell, it's even what defined her in the first case with her.) If Shiratori's destined path is policing, her's is teaching.

Well, also, quitting entirely is going out of fashion, I think. Though a pause for a baby isn't out of the realm of possibility, it probably won't happen either way before the series ends. XD

But yeah--Kobayashi-sensei is an awesome teacher in the bits we've seen of her. SHe has a calling!

As for cheapness.... well, yeah. But I don't think they'd be actively bad for each other, I can see some chance for good, and Shiratori being an utter romantic sop humanizes him.

So there. XD

I'm in-different about the pairing, mostly because I don't like Shiratori. *shrugs* Though I love Kobayahshi-sensei and always thought she deserved some love in her life.

Dude, there is not enough DW love in the world. *nods* We're talking a show that made OPERA jokes. Managed to riff on pretty much the entire Batman canon. Took potshots at James Bond, Maxwell Smart AND The Man from UNCLE all in the same episode. Had an entire episode riffing on TWIN PEAKS, for crying out loud. It was genius.

hehe, I was reading a KH fanfic and suddenly had an urge to watch DW...still gotta finish the second half of eppy one (I fell asleep mid show)

Heh. It was a good show. I remember cracking up at the name "Taurus Bulba" and then having to explain that it was an opera ref to a friend.
