I'm sensing a pattern today:

So today, we caught up on Zombie-Loan, then discovered volume 8 of Ghost Hunt, and a new chapter of Ghost Only, then tried The Case Files of Karasuma Kyoko cause she fights oni, only it was really boring, then the end of Spiral ~Suiri no Kizuna~ volume 11 came out, which was squee and we finally got around to reading all three volumes of Uzumaki, which wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it was going to be, although the spirals got dizzying after a while.

So... Zombie Fluff, Ghost Fluff, Ghost Mystery, Oni Mystery, Spiral Mystery, Spiral Horror.

And, of course, while cleaning out the music folder, it had to come up with Zombina & The Skeletones - Nobody Likes You When You're Dead.

AND! To top it all off, on this wonderful thirteenth day of the first month of Autumn, we got our [livejournal.com profile] spook_me prompts. ^__^

Hmm... what to write... what to write... *CACKLES*

>D And don't forget that volume 4 of Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurosagi_Corpse_Delivery_Service) should just be coming out! *makes grabby hands for it*

So Uzumaki was good? I've been hearing things about it for years, but never picked it up.

Yes! Yay Kurosagi!!!

Uzumaki was a lot more sci-fi and a lot less horror than I expected. A lot of the stuff I couldn't actually -see- happening, so there was a slight edge of surreal comedy to the whole thing, IMHO.
Favourite chapter would have to be the Medusa one however, where her hair starts growing into huge anti-gravity spirals that hypnotise people. XD

From your list and prompt mention, I am already scared of what you shall write.

Oh, good. #^^# Thanks!

I swear, the person doing "Spook Me" is psychic. Two of the three prompts I got PERFECTLY fit this spooky idea that's been bugging me for a while...

Hey, Icka? Can you think of a gem that would symbolize Conan? To somebody with Kid's intelligence and knowledge, but NOT aware of his secret...

[identity profile] ickaimp.livejournal.com 2007-09-16 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm... the first stones that come to mind for Conan are either Lapis Lazuli (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lapis_lazuli#Cultural_and_historical.2Fmythical_usage) or Sapphire. ... He's always deep, royal blue tones to me. ^^;;

-I don't know what Sapphire is supposed to symbolise, but I was told when I was younger that Lapis Lazuli was used as 'an opener of the hidden eye'. #^^#

[identity profile] marsdejahthoris.livejournal.com 2007-09-16 11:34 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm. Lapis might work. Sapphire's already taken... My current choice is Garnet, 'cause it's associated with blood, and death, and protection against thieves...

Kaito's going to get a challenge/heist note with four chemical formulas and the warning of "I will have what is yours." And a Kid caricature in the corner.

The four formulas translate to four gemstones... Topaz, Sapphire, whatever I pick for the chibi, and Moonstone... :)

[identity profile] ickaimp.livejournal.com 2007-09-16 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm.... colour contrasts... I take it that the Topaz is Golden? Cause blue Sapphire would then be on the opposite side of the colour scale.

Moonstone is white.... Black Opal, Black Pearl (both unfortunately already done in canon), Jet, Hematite, (not really 'gems' tho). Ysabet is suggesting smokey quartz because it's slightly transparent but not totally.

Hmmm... Orange-yellow, Blue and White...

Chemistry and Alchemy are also tied together... The Philosopher's Stone stone has several sets of colours tied to it. Khalid bin Yazid (late 600, early 700s) said "The stone unifies in itself all colors. It is white, red, yellow, heavenly blue and green." In which case, Kid could be white or Pandora red as he looks for it, which makes Conan green - Jade, or Emerald perhaps?

Or there were about four stages to making the stone... Black, White, Yellow, and then Red...

.... and I'm getting carried away again. *head desk* Apologies. #^^#

*snicker* Thanks, I like all of it. Each of the gems is a person, actually. Topazes are yellow, and sometimes blue... *I have Saguru as being blue-eyed, manga canon* Sapphire is where Aoko's name came from, Conan, still working on, and Moonstone... well, white, moon... gee, who could that be? :)
