Current Adventures

- Ysabet found out last night that a very good old friend of hers has passed away after a fall. I'm sure she'll post something about it sooner or later, but she prolly won't have LJ access until later this weekend.
She does however, have e-mail access, if people wanna send her random cheerfulness. (But I didn't send you! 'kay?)

-We like adventures. Walking over a mile in 105f/40c degree heat with a pinched something-or-another in my lower back and a slightly sprained knee is a stupid adventure I never wish to repeat again. >P (see jumping into car incident from Friday's lessons as to the injuries)

-Am now certified in CPR/AED for Adults, Children and Infants for the next year, and basic First Aid for the next three years!
... if you haven't brushed up on your CPR for a few years, it might be a good idea to do so. They've changed a few things, it's now 30 compressions to every 2 breaths.
I kinda wanna take more first aid classes, still don't know how to wrap sprains or take care of anything other than the bare basics...

- Been reading the Gokusen manga, which was surprisingly better than anticipated. Liked it better than the episode of the dub anime that we caught.
Found some good fics too

- Gordian Knot is trying to mutate. I don't -care- how many limbs Hakuba has, it's probably not a good idea to go glomping both Kaito AND Aoko. ~_~ I gave this fic four chapters at most, it can deal with it!

-Have a cuddly baby asleep in my lap. Go me! ^___^

I quite enjoyed the CPR part - 30 compressions, 2 breaths, 100bpm - which translates to approximately the beat for "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer". I can see people being utterly thrilled at me humming this while doing CPR...

*Dies laughing*

I have been wandering around all day humming that song, trying not to randomly do the chest compressions. XD

Thank you!

I've heard of some changes like that. I read in Science News (a weekly publication of scientific research) that the breathing is far secondary to the compressions.
I've never read the Gokusen manga. I own the show, though. It affords me many laughs (I don't watch it dubbed though, I think it might be amusing that way).

Hakuba can't glomp both? Why not?

...

Is this gonna turn out a bit like the Vampyre AU that you wrote? Minus, y'know, the zombies and a lot of the magicy bits and such?

And Chibi goes "Gordian Knot? Why did not I hear of this?"
Me goes "It's a bit pornish."
"Oh. Okay...Ack. Okay."

*goes to sign back up for a CPR refersher course as that doesn't sound like what she learned*

Which reminds me, I need to get my defibulator training again, good thing those machines are pretty much dummy proof.

Sprains and that are easy to learn, it's the adjusting it for body size of the victim that's a bitch...and learning to wrap knee injuries, I can never do the cross wrap properly.

Then again, I learned a lot of my first aid in Fire/Rescue and wilderness training, perhaps it's different when it's a home setting?
