San Rafael, CA

Okay! Sooooo..... we didn't quite make it to San Fran, we're just a short hop across a body of water from there.

We stayed with Becky Tailweaver for a couple of days and got to meet her family. They've got Horses!! *kyaaaa* and sheep and goats and a dog and cats. And a dog. Sweetie of an old dog. >D And we stayed up late talking and exchanging anime episodes. Much fun.

Hey, Ysabet and Morgan? Whaddya think about moving to Oregon? *waggles eyebrows* Kinda reminds me of NZ in some ways, just got a very comfortable feeling around the area. And sheep!!! ^_______________^

And! We got to go to 'Emerald City' in Eugene, which is the local Comic/Anime/Manga/Gamer/Geek hang out. Missed [livejournal.com profile] lazulisong by about an hour, but got to meet her sister [livejournal.com profile] vampireborg and Ms [livejournal.com profile] whytekitten, whom we kinda recongised from Y-con. Had fun talking/geeking out with them.

Currently at a friend of Allie's, staying at her house which evidently was an engineer and new architect's baby. We're literally in a dungeon, and there's antique stained glass and strange round shapes and just all sorts of bizzare house things like the hall way that goes no where. And it's all built into the side of a hill. Like, open a side door and there's no wall, there's hill. Just wow. Great veiw of the city too.

Everyone's got such interesting houses... I feel all boring now. ^^;;

Think the current time table is we're spending today (dinner at Fisherman's Wharf!), tomorrow and Wed, in San Fran/San Jose and saying hello to Po'e and the bratling, then heading down to Los Angeles to visit my folks, 'Neechan and hang out with Tdei. Allie's gotta get back to Ohio, so we're currently looking at flying her out of Tucson on the 25th, so we should be back in Arizona by then. *yay! my floor! >^.^<*

And Ysabet, I'm glad you got my postcard. ~_^ And yes, I'm sure notifying you that I am wearing clean underwear amused the post office employees as well. *cackles*

Gah! Where are you in SR? I live about ten minutes down the freeway in the direction of SF. It'd be grand to poke at you a bit.

You are?! Yay!

Unfortunately, we're kinda moving around while in San Fran, tonight we're a few blocks away from the Winchester Mystery House and tomorrow were're somewhere in Mountain View.....

Tomorrow is the Asian Art Museum sometime in the afternoon, need to do laundry in the morning, if you wanna meet up there. ^___^

Oregon's great. It's smack in the middle of my "places to move" list, which is mostly the "forest belt" running from central-coast California to Homer, Alaska.

Glad to hear you are doing well. I actually will be heading up that way this winter. (Remember the winter trip I asked you about?) Looking into a place I can retire. Want a pretty place and Oregon and the coast are front runners. And of course, will have horses on the YG Ranch. A must! ;)

HUGS. Let me know when you are getting here.

...Oregon??... **blinkblink** The only problem I have with it is my abysmal sense of U.S. geography; I'm trying to picture where it is and... uh-- it's-- isn't it sort of northish above California? Right. And I think it has seacoast; fairly sure about that. Gaaaaahhh, I have the WORST grasp of stateside where-things-are-ness in existance. Sounds pretty, though! Mmmm, sheep... you can spin their wool, and then you can eat 'em! And Icka, I know what you're thinking, but I'm not a guy so I can't do *that* to 'em. **swats Icka**

Yes... the post-card. Think I'll scan that one for posterity and post it. ^______^

XD Yes we're north of CA. Just exactly so.

And we have coast and mountains and cities and forests and skiing and lakes and rivers and lava fields and just about anything you can think of doing...from symphony to whitewater rafting, and even a Con in Portland. XD For all of its shortcomings it's really a great place.

And you can have aaalllll the extra wool you want, too. I've got whole old BAGS of it I must get rid of.... ^^; *huggles* Must admit I'd be thrilled if y'all came up here anyway. XD

((Have fun and safe trip, Wandering Horde! Mom says thanks for the lovely post-breakfast kitchen cleanup, and sends hugs! Godspeed!))

And don't forget the peppermint fields! Much love for those, too.

Have fun in CA!

Oregon has short-comings? I mean besides the cows.

Seriously though, Oregon is a wonderful place to live, nature and cities, farms mixed with urban development...where else can you find a McDonalds in between two hayfields?

Reminds me, I want to go hiking before the foliage turns it's usual summer brown, though considering the rain we've been getting, that won't be for a bit. *stares poutingly at the 'Oregon Sunshine' that won't let her go swimming*

**hugs** I should've added: "and it has really, really nice people living in it too." It sounds so pretty...

Aaaargh; have itchy want-to-wander feet now; am actually contemplating New York in October. Oregon? Hmmmmmm...

Glad you're doing well!!

...and I admit to thinking extremely wrong things when I saw the mention of sheep. Because that's just the way my mind works >:D

If you have the time, I recommend checking out the Tezuka exhibit at the San Fran Asian Art Museum. It's pretty cool. =D

That's where we're going tomorrow! XD
