*rests head on desk* ... Bugger.

So got fitted for a bra today. Turns out that I'm not an H or I-cup.
I'm -both-.

The right is an H-cup, the 'naughty left girl' --which the Bra Lady also referred to as 'Griselda'-- is an I. ...and a half... #>_<#

Was commented that is a good thing m'not a guy with comparable sizes. Can we say 'tennis balls'? Yowch.

"... Lots of Hail."

H... I...

That can't be the same system in the U.S, right? O_O Erm, uh... how do I ask this without sounding terribly wrong...

[identity profile] ickaimp.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
Do not worry about it sounding wrong. There's not much you can ask me about bras that I will be embarrassed about. ^^;;

Same cup size as the US, yes. ^^;; One cup size for every inch of difference between the widest part of the clevage and the ribcage, or under the arm, depending on who's measuring.
However, instead of being a 38 around the ribcage, I'm a 16.

International Bra Size Converter (http://www.85b.org/bra_conv.php)

Also, figure that a D-cup weighs 15-20 pounds (6.7-9 kilograms) of mass.
For every cup size past that, add 5 pounds. (about 2.5 kilograms)

That's always a good thing. If I ever have a question about bras, I know who to ask. You've also just explained why I can find bras that 'half fit' (that's how I think of it).

[identity profile] ickaimp.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
No worries! Several years ago, figured out that yes, I had clevage, no, it wasn't going anywhere, and I should prolly get used to people staring. So I did and find myself being extremely blunt when it comes to breasts. ^^;; And gathering knowledge, cause it's usually an uncomfortable subject for people to learn aobut.

Evidently having one breast that is larger than the other is a very common problem. In my case, it's just... a little bit more extreme. ^^;; (argh. size and a half)

[identity profile] ytak.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, there *is* breast reduction surgery but that costs money. And then there is the recovery period following it. Its a good thing that you haven't really had back problems till now. I keep thinking of a program I saw about this woman who had her's reduced from double I to a more manageble E. >.<

Evidently having one breast that is larger than the other is a very common problem
I read that somewhere before but that doesn't stop the irritation from being lopsided. *laughs*

...

......

.........so that's where all that extra weight comes from. And the back pain.

::wonders if those weights are per or for both...::

[identity profile] ickaimp.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup. Ze Boobies are not light. ^^;;

From what I understand, the weight is for both.

[identity profile] hoshi-ryo.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
And I need to be less by rather much of their weight...

...ouch

...I'm suddenly very happy for my small little B's-almost-C's. DDD:

[identity profile] ickaimp.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
... and some people -want- to be bigger. 9_9 really, just blows my mind...

[identity profile] shade-scribbler.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
How do you know that???

[identity profile] pepperbeast.livejournal.com 2006-09-13 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
Yer what? I estimate my D-cups weigh about 1kg each or about 4-1/2lb in total.

[identity profile] bemysty.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 08:39 am (UTC)(link)
...oh shit, what. I'm like a 44B and shriek in pain at the very thought of H/I boobs @_@;;;

[identity profile] ickaimp.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 10:22 am (UTC)(link)
They're natural, so it just kinda... grew on me. #^^# Up until recently, it wasn't causing any back problems. Did something a week ago and now it hurts. ^^;;
There are advantages to it. Such as currently the laptop is sitting on my legs and the cat is curled up on the shelf that is my clevage.

[identity profile] poe-nui.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
*grins* Do love the image... hope the cat is enjoying half as much as I am... *wanders off snickering*

[identity profile] psycho-devli.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 09:51 am (UTC)(link)
Oh bugger. & I thought trying to find a 14D bra that was nice when I was shopping the other day was a mission. Y'ouch! I feel for ya >_<

[identity profile] ickaimp.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 10:25 am (UTC)(link)
Eh, been like this for years, always a pain to find bras. S'why I hate bra shopping. ^^;;

[identity profile] raventhourne.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
yes but at least you live in a country where shops even think of carrying anything about a DD. Seriously. I have a hell of time getting my DD To fit but my sister-in-law who is GG has to order hers from england just to get something that fits.

[identity profile] ickaimp.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Gnee, that's true.
The local shop went up as high as a F, which had an underwire. >P
-I refuse to buy underwires because they break so quickly. (the metal breaks at the bottom, right against to my ribs and... no. pain, yes.)

My youngest sister is ordering them from England and is extremely thrilled about the ones she's getting. But they're also in plaid. ^^^;;

[identity profile] poe-nui.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
...your sister is evil...

[identity profile] pepperbeast.livejournal.com 2006-09-13 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Try http://www.richundercover.com/. Underwires shouldn't break easily if the bra fits.

[identity profile] elinor-dear.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup...fun ain't it?

[identity profile] ickaimp.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)

And, before I forget, She-Beast told me to tell both you and the Kiwi hello.

[identity profile] ickaimp.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
*waves back*
Heya, She-Beast!

[identity profile] mel-redcap.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 10:00 am (UTC)(link)
*patpats Icka... on the SHOULDER. Carefully.*

Yeeeah, that kinda sucks. O_o;; I have enough trouble with one being a bit over a D and one being a bit over a DD... but hey, at least you found a store that can fit you, right? And hopefully your back will calm down soon!
