{art} AnimeFEST 2003 Con Report
Con report = lots of sketches. We did lots in Chibi Style for some reason. Was fun.
Quigon with Pikachu
Caught him just walking out of an elevator with a Pikachu peeking out of his Jedi robe's hood. Too funny.
Cat nip.
The guy wandering around with the fishing pole said that he was having more fun at Con without having to do anything. *laughs*
Tokyo Mew Mew in Combat Boots.
Girl had an attidude. o_O
The important part of my Vermouth Costume.
Got several comments about "Lucky Plushie."
Poor Ysabet.
We'll let her explain this one on her Live Journal. ^__^
Scott McNeil
Better known as the voice of Duo Maxwell, he and Michael Dobson hosted the art auction. He's a huge character and a lot of fun to watch.
Michael Dobson
He squeaked when he saw this and signed it for us. He's a big sweetheart. (and the voice for Blob and Caliban in X-men: Evolution)
Ramen & Rice
Ramen's got the short hair, Rice has the longer hair. We've seen them at Last year's Fanime and Anime Expo and they're always a musical treat. Really really good music. They showed up at the Art Auction to play for Scott and Michael.
Cheesecake.
For the adult portion of the art auction, the assitants shed their fancy kimonos for their undergarments... leather bodices and thigh-high boots. And then posed. Think she had too much fun.
Chasing Tails
This was a funny guy, who we chased when dressed as a Kyonshi. Last day of Con we caught him running in a circle trying to catch his 2 tails. He got so dizzy he fell down and went boom.
Elevator Diving
During one of my many dives through the closing elevator doors, one of the guys inside commented that at Anime Conventions, everyone seemed to think that they could squash and streach just like anime characters to get through the elevator doors.
There was a slight pause, then he added that it usually worked too.
Fly Bag
On the way back, we stopped at a little truckstop on the side of the road, and noticed a large ziplock bag tied to the metal screendoor. When we asked about it, the sales lady said that it was to keep the flies away. She didn't know how it worked, but it seemed to. Which was true, there were no flies around.
Sign on the door read "Shotgun Shells behind the Counter"
Series we got into at AnimeFEST:
Jungle Wa Itsumo Hare Noichi Guu (the jungle is either sunny or hungry)
I would feel sorry for Hale if I didn't think he deserved it so much. Guu is just disturbing.
Princess Tutu
Stopped to see an episode because Meg commented on watching it. One of those series that I'm gonna shudder at the cuteness then pick up because I wanna know what the heck they were smoking. Damn Fyne Crack, that's for sure.
We also had the honour of meeting Katsu, Michelle Thatcher and Krista Perry. All were great fun to talk with. Krista looked in the need of a hug, lots of chocolate and a long nap. Michelle was much fun, and I do apologise to her, I'm still trying to find her Hikago fanfic to see if I've read it. ^^;;
Bridget's kids were awesome to hang out with. Rachel was espeically cool, and drew some pictures for me. *hearts*
Still cleaning up the other art, to be posted and whatnot after we go and get lunch.
And YaoiCon's coming up... must get ready...
